The rough cut of our short film about dam removal in the Northwest is ready! (Just in time for the removal of Marmot Dam on Tuesday!)

The film centers around the upcoming removal of dams on Oregon’s Sandy River and discusses the trend of river restoration in the Northwest. It highlights two other rivers - the Elwha and White Salmon - where dams are scheduled to come down.

The footage was shot in high-definition, so it’s too bad the web can’t do it justice. I’m looking forward to holding public screenings (stay tuned for dates/places) so you can see the footage in all its HD glory.

We expect the film to be finished in mid-August.

Until then, please let us know what you think!

And, many many thanks to all of the people who agreed to appear in the film. Hope to see you all again soon!

Amy, the video looks great, can’t wait to see the whole thing! I’ve added it to the post, easier to view that way.

I look forward to seeing your full film. I grew up with the Sandy river literally in my back yard(in Brightwood, near old Marmot Rd.)
